Nasiru Bolaji, popularly known as NasBoi, a renowned comedian and skit maker on Instagram, has emphasized the financial viability of creating online comedy skits while dispelling rumors linking him to internet fraud, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo.’
In a recent episode of the Bahd And Boujee Podcast released on Friday, NasBoi addressed the misconception, stating, “Yahoo is stressful now. From what I know, you have to be awake all the time.” He contrasted this with the profitability of skit making, revealing, “I know someone who made $33,000 from a single video on Facebook.”
However, NasBoi declined to disclose the identity of the high-earning skit maker, saying, “I won’t mention names. You wouldn’t know them. But if this person buys a car and a gossip account like Instablog wants to post it, they will simply say ‘a skit maker,’” he chuckled.
NasBoi expressed frustration over persistent assumptions regarding his income source, highlighting the creative demands and emotional toll of consistently producing new skit ideas. “Skit making is intense. Do you know how often I battle depression? I think about skits almost every day. Yet people keep saying ‘Yahoo, Yahoo’. How much is Yahoo, really?” he questioned.
He praised fellow skit makers like Brother Shaggy and The Cute Abiola for their work ethic and dedication to the craft, underscoring his own passion for skit creation beyond monetary gain. “I work tirelessly too. Money isn’t my main goal. I can shoot four or five Instagram skits in a month without posting on YouTube. That’s my style. I’m content with what I have,” NasBoi affirmed.
In conclusion, NasBoi reaffirmed his commitment to skit making as a labor of love, urging recognition for the hard work put in by himself and his peers in the industry.
